Investor Occupation Permit
If you are establishing or acquiring a business in Mauritius, the Investor OP is your primary route. It allows you to run your company and live in Mauritius for up to 10 years.
Investor OP
- Minimum initial investment of USD 100,000
- Minimum turnover MUR 5,000,000 from Year 3
- MUR 8,000,000 turnover required to renew from Year 5
- Valid for 10 years, renewable
- Permit fee payable to the authorities: USD 1,000 on approval
- USD 50 non-refundable application fee
- Dependants covered under the permit
Self-Employed Occupation Permit
Designed for freelancers, consultants and solo professionals who want to operate independently from Mauritius, serving both local and international clients.
Self-Employed OP
- Investment of USD 50,000 in a professional activity
- 3 letters of intent from prospective clients required
- Minimum turnover MUR 2,000,000 from Year 3
- MUR 3,000,000 turnover required to renew from Year 5
- Valid for 10 years, renewable
- Services sector only (exc goods & trading activities)
- Permit fee payable to the authorities: USD 1,000 on approval
- USD 50 non-refundable application fee
- Dependants covered under the permit
Innovator Occupation Permit
The Innovator OP is tailored for tech founders and entrepreneurs with innovative projects.
Innovator OP
- No minimum investment required for approved projects
- Submit an innovative project to the EDB for concept evaluation
- Or register with an MRIC-accredited incubator
- Valid for 10 years, renewable
- Ideal for tech, SaaS and deep-tech founders
- Permit fee payable to the authorities: USD 1,000 on approval
- USD 50 non-refundable application fee
- Dependants covered under the permit
Golden Visa Scheme
The Golden Visa Scheme provides international investors with a clear pathway to long-term residency through strategic investment in Mauritius.
Golden Visa
- Renewable 2-year E-Visa
- Minimum investment of USD 1M within 12 months in an investment project within a qualifying sector
- Dependants covered under the permit
- Benefit from EDB's dedicated Fast-Track Concierge Service
- Eligible to apply for PRP upon making the required minimum investment
