After 5 consecutive years on an Occupation or Residence Permit, you may apply for the 20-year Permanent Residence Permit — the closest to permanent settlement Mauritius offers.
Pathways to Permanent Residency
Each route has specific qualifying criteria that must be maintained throughout the duration of the permit.
Under Investor Permit
Must hold the Investor OP for 5+ consecutive years. Minimum annual turnover MUR 15M for 5 years.
Under Professional Permit
Must hold the Professional OP for 5+ consecutive years. Minimum basic monthly salary MUR 400,000 for 5 consecutive years.
Under Self-Employed Permit
Must hold the Self-Employed OP for 5+ consecutive years. Minimum annual business income of MUR 3M for 5 years.
Under Retired Non-Citizen Permit
Must hold the Retirement Permit for 5+ consecutive years. Transfer an aggregate of USD 200,000 for a consecutive period of 5 years.
Under Qualifying Investor
Minimum investment of USD 375,000 in a qualifying business activity — no prior permit required.
Under the Golden Visa
Must invest a minimum amount of USD 1M in an investment project within a qualifying sector, within 12 months.

The PRP is valid for 20 years and renewable for a further 20 years — giving you a long-term, secure base in Mauritius.

Applying for the PRP
